'The Keeper: The Legend of Omar Khayyam' Film Screening, 6th November 2005

A film directed, produced and written by Kayvan Mashayekh, was premiered at the UGC Cinema Leicester Square. The feature length film, starring Vanessa Redgrave, takes the audience on an enchanting journey of one of the most prolific Persian poets and astronomers in history. Omid Djalili introduced the programme with an outstanding stand-up performance. William O'Reilly of Christies' conducted an auction of sports memorabilia. The proceeds from this event went to the Magic of Persia Education Programme at the British Museum. www.greatomar.com
